Justified by LOVE (Grace) — S4 DEp10

Lady V’s Devotional Episode

Roman 5:8-11 Amplified Bible Classic Edition says:

“But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us.

Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ’s blood, how much more [certain is it that] we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God.

For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more [certain], now that we are reconciled, that we shall be saved (daily delivered from sin’s dominion) through His [resurrection] life.

Not only so, but we also rejoice and exultingly glory in God [in His love and perfection] through our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we have now received and enjoy [our] reconciliation.”

Devotional

Sometimes in life, we question God when things don’t turn out the way we planned. And, we can’t see how anything good can come out of a bad situation. Then we sit and wonder if God loves us.

STRONG in the LORD: A Fight to the Finish – S4 Ep5

In general, no one is exempt from problems. No doubt, those challenges vary in degrees of difficulty. Moreover, for some people, their problems overwhelm them to the point of hopelessness. Why? Because, when one feels as if they are always fighting battles from day to day, it can take a toll on their mind and spirit. And it is in those times of weakness that the thoughts of suicide have overtaken many. But there is another way. Hence, this episode — STRONG in the LORD: A Fight to the Finish.

God is Close – S4 DEp5

Lady V’s Devotional Episode

Psalm 34:17-19 (NLT) says:

The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.

Psalm 34:17-19 (NLT)

Devotional

I’m a mother. And ever since my daughter was a baby, I had my ears tuned to hear her cry. And, although she is an adult now, I’m still concerned about her well-being.

So much so, I’ll come running when she needs me! I want to know when something troubles her! I want to rescue her from any hurts or disappointments. I love her that much!

No doubt, love makes you want to rescue the ones you love!

So, when we read Psalm 34:17-19 (NLT), we are reminded of the Heavenly Father’s love for us. The Heavenly Father tunes in to HIS children too. He’s not a distant God. He is close enough to hear our cries!

Love Reveals GOD — S3-DE15

Lady V’s Devotional Episode

1 John 4:7-10 (MSG) says;

7-10 My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love.

This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God.

1 John 4:7-10 (MSG)

Devotional

When you look around, watch the nightly news, walk into a department store during the Christmas holidays—what do you see? You find everything but love among people. Why do you think that is? Does ANYONE know God?

I realized the problem—People that don’t love others can’t know Jesus as LORD. Thus, they don’t know God!  The renewing of your mind begins with faith in Jesus, and time in HIS Word to learn what love is. And it takes learning about Jesus to see what LOVE looks like.

Truth is—the excellence of LOVE reveals GOD.

The sacrifice that Jesus made on the Cross for the sins of the world was unselfish, enduring love. This love was kind, thoughtful, truthful, and full of grace.

Jesus didn’t let someone’s race, financial status, or a political party decide whether He would go on the Cross for them. NO! JESUS let love guide the decisions He made. And we too must let love guide us.

We must learn how to love others as God has loved us

EVEN ME — S3-DE9

Lady V’s Devotional Episode

Mark 16:1-8 (NLT) says:

“Saturday evening, when the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went out and purchased burial spices so they could anoint Jesus’ body.

Very early on Sunday morning, just at sunrise, they went to the tomb. On the way they were asking each other, ‘Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?’

But as they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone which was very large, had already been rolled aside.

When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, but the angel said, ‘Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!

Look, this is where they laid his body. Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died.’

The women fled from the tomb, trembling and bewildered, and they said nothing to anyone because they were too frightened.

Then they briefly reported all this to Peter and his companions. Afterward Jesus himself sent them out from east to west with the sacred and unfailing message of salvation that gives eternal life. Amen.”

Mark 16:1-8 (NLT)

Devotional

Is any among you suffering from guilt and shame? Do you think God cannot use you because you’ve made some mistakes?

Well, here’s a bit of solace (comfort).

Peter had sinned and denied Jesus three times before the Lord’s crucifixion. He probably couldn’t imagine the Lord ever using him again after this.

And although Peter had already been forgiven, I’m sure he felt ashamed for what he had done like most of us do.

But here’s the beauty in God’s love for us—God’s grace is multiplied in the midst of our mistakes.

Understanding What Love IS – S3E7

Wisdom Series Pt.2

To begin with, relationships are a part of life. Whether family, friendship, romantic, or professional we all have them. At the end of the day, that is why ‘Understanding What Love IS’ is so important. Because for the most part, no ‘successful’ relationship happens without love.

It is true some people believe love is the most powerful force in the universe. As a Christian, I believe in the power of love because the Holy Bible tells us that God is love. And He created everything out of love. You may be thinking, “But SD, does ‘every’ successful relationship ‘really’ operate from a place of love?” And my answer is a resounding “Yes!”

Heaven’s Perspective of LOVE — S3-DE7

Lady V’s Devotional Episode

John 3:16-17 (ERV) says:

Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world. He did not send him to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him.”

John 3:16-17 (ERV)

Devotional

The love God has for HIS creation goes far beyond our imagination. And, this love did not come without a cost. In John 3:16-17, we find that this love had a hefty price to be paid by Jesus Christ and came with a divine purpose—Salvation.

Photo of a hand reaching down and another hand reaching up. Pic represents God reaching down depicting heaven's perspective of love.

You see, Heaven’s Perspective of Love is that it’s a sacrificial giving of all that you are to benefit another.  In fact, this love carries a load that belongs to another. This love lifts every burden, every problem, and every dreaded thing upon itself.

Loving God and Loving Others

Let love and kindness be the motivation behind all that you do.

1 Corinthians 16:14 The Passion Translation

Devotional

Beloved, do you know that as we go about representing Jesus Christ, our motivation should always be that of LOVE? No matter who we meet or what they believe, we as the church are to show the love of Christ.

You might say, “Why is that so important?” I’m glad you asked! It is important because Jesus came to the earth and sacrificed everything, all in the name of LOVE. “For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.” (John 3:16, TPT)

What is Love and the Role God Plays in It? – S1E1

The Topic of Love

This week SD and Lady V discuss the topic of love; such as, ‘What is love and the role God plays in it?” The ladies start the discussion with the following definitions of the word ‘love’ from Dictionary.com

  • Love can be a warm personal attachment
  • sexual passion, a term of endearment
  • enthusiasm of a certain thing (love of books, movies, cars, and etc.)
  • used as a score of ‘0’ in the sport of tennis.

SD and Lady V discuss the importance of being on the same page about ‘love’ in any given relationship because everybody’s definition of love is not necessarily the same. Sadly, some people use the word ‘love’ very lightly.
